Problem with SDL dissapearing by Kiran (Kiran at gmail dot com) 2009-09-06 10:57:54 Reply
I had also same problem - when I install SDL_net, main SDL dissapear. But I figured, what caused it; when I unpack dev-pack (it's tar.bz2 file), main meta-information file is named "SDL.DevPackage". When I change it to "SDL_net.DevPackage" and pack it to dev package file (tar.bz2), all works just fine.
But I have no idea, if it's bug in package manager (I have 2.2.6) or in this package itself.

This site is great. It is definitely a big helper to programmers. I thank the authors and developers for this site, as well as the packagers. This website has given me the utmost assistance with programming.
No longer maintaining this package by guest 2009-03-01 22:11:42 Reply
Wow, it's been three years and I forgot that I put that there. I compiled it using SDL 1.2.10. If you want to use this package, you'll need to downgrade. You might also need an older version of DevC++. There is a later version of SDL_net, too. They're at 1.2.7. I would suggest using the latest versions: download the 1.2.13 devpak. Then get the source for SDL_net from the www.libsdl.org. You should be able to compile it using MinGW.
