Problem with SDL dissapearing byKiran
(Kiran gmail com)
I had also same problem - when I install SDL_net, main SDL dissapear. But I figured, what caused it; when I unpack dev-pack (it's tar.bz2 file), main meta-information file is named "SDL.DevPackage". When I change it to "SDL_net.DevPackage" and pack it to dev package file (tar.bz2), all works just fine. But I have no idea, if it's bug in package manager (I have 2.2.6) or in this package itself.
This site is great. It is definitely a big helper to programmers. I thank the authors and developers for this site, as well as the packagers. This website has given me the utmost assistance with programming.
No longer maintaining this package byguest2009-03-01 22:11:42Reply
Wow, it's been three years and I forgot that I put that there. I compiled it using SDL 1.2.10. If you want to use this package, you'll need to downgrade. You might also need an older version of DevC++. There is a later version of SDL_net, too. They're at 1.2.7. I would suggest using the latest versions: download the 1.2.13 devpak. Then get the source for SDL_net from the www.libsdl.org. You should be able to compile it using MinGW.
