Where to install GSL DevPack in Bloodshed C++ by guest 2009-07-20 18:31:44 Reply
Hello: I would like to use GNU libraries in my Dev C++ coding environmt. I was recommended to install GSL DevPack. I open the executable in the 'Download' part of the homepage of GSL DevPack. But where should I install the components? Thank you!!
slightly non-trivial linking in the Dev-C++ IDE by guest 2008-08-06 00:25:23 Reply
The Dev-pak for GSL has a bit of a problem when trying to use it, as opposed to sth like boost - in order for the linker to find the actual
object file for the library, you need to go to

Project-->Project Options-->Parameters [linker-->'Add lib or obj' button]

and add the .a or .lib file for the GSL package.

This problem has surfaced on the internet a number of times already, and I managed to find this solution in one of the (half dozen) documented occurances of this problem.

Is there any way to get around having to do this (at least the Boost Dev-Pak doesn't need this) ?

Any chance of the 1.10 GSL? Only found 1.8 elsewhere.
